2023 Digital Mat Action (PS)

UPDATED FOR 2023! A Photoshop action that creates a simple digital mat for image competitions. Running the action will duplicate the image to a new file, add a single mat using the current foreground color, add stroke lines to the image , then resize everything to 4000px on the longest side. Mat and stroke line are entirely customizable. Increase the size of the bottom or side of mat to add guide images for Artist submissions.
Included are three actions:

• COMP Matting with thin mat - this creates a fairly narrow mat with a stroke line.

• COMP Matting with place - this action will create the mat as above but also ask you to find the file (“place linked file”) to put on the mat. This will allow you to resize the image, larger or smaller, without any degradation in quality as well as make edits to the original psd file that will be reflected in this matted file.

• Visible Stamp - bonus action. Add a function key to this action to create a quick “visible stamp”.
